Today The Mirror Asia has run a report on the resignation of Peter Haas, the US Ambassador to Dhaka. 

The US Embassy has responded to the report. In an email sent to TMA, the embassy has said, “Ambassador Haas remains Ambassador to Bangladesh.”
 
It also said that David Slayton Meale has been nominated as the next Ambassador to Bangladesh.

For further information, the US Embassy urges TMA to contact the White House “that nominates Ambassadors and/or the United States Senate Foreign Relations Committee that confirms them.”
