Bangladesh dismissed for 149 in its first innings
Bangladesh put a disappointing batting performance to be all out for 149 in its first innings of the first cricket Test against
India at M Chidambaram Stadium today.
Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah wrecked havoc on Bangladesh, claiming 4-50. His fellow pacers Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep and left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja took two wickets apiece to further dismantle Bangladesh on spicy pitch.
Shakib Al Hasan made team-high 32 while Mehidy Hasan Miraz was not out on 27. Liton Das scored 22 and captain Najmul Hossain Shanto added 20.
India which were bowled out for 376, finally took 227-run lead in the first innings.
The hosts resumed the day on 339-6 but lost the last four wickets for just only 37 runs in the morning session of Day 2.
Pacer Hasan Mahmud snared 5-83, which was his second consecutive five-for in Test cricket. Taskin Ahmed finished with 3-55.
