Rawalpindi Test: Litton leads Bangladesh's fight with crucial century
Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das scored a century in the ongoing Rawalpindi Test against hosts Pakistan on Sunday.
In response to Pakistan's first innings total of 274, Bangladesh found themselves in dire straits, losing six wickets for a mere 26 runs.
However, Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz staged a remarkable recovery, guiding the Tigers to 193. Mehidy contributed 78 off 124 balls before his dismissal.
Litton continued his stellar performance, notching his fourth Test century and his second against Pakistan.
He reached the milestone in the 65th over, steering a delivery from Abrar Ahmed to the slip area for a boundary.
By the end of the 67th over, Bangladesh were 223 for eight, still trailing by 51 runs in the first innings.
For Pakistan, Khurram Shahzad was the standout bowler, claiming six wickets so far in this innings.
The first day of this Test match was washed out due to persistent rain and a wet outfield. Bangladesh won the toss when play began on the second day and opted to bowl first.
Mehidy led the bowling attack, taking five wickets as Bangladesh bowled out Pakistan for 274.
Bangladesh won the first match of this series by 10 wickets at the same venue. A win or even a draw in this Test would secure their maiden Test series victory over Pakistan.
