Nazmul steps down, Faruque Ahmed new BCB boss
Former Bangladesh captain Faruque Ahmed has been named the new president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). He replaces Nazmul Hasan, who fled the country after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina-led government in a popular uprising.
The BCB's media department confirmed Faruque's appointment as the new president.
Previously, Faruque served as the BCB's chief selector but resigned due to undisclosed differences with the board.
With Faruque's appointment, Nazmul's long and somewhat controversial tenure as BCB president has come to an end. Nazmul was appointed as BCB president in 2013 and was expected to serve until next year, completing his third tenure. However, following the fall of the Sheikh Hasina-led administration, he decided to step down.
