Khaleda Zia acquitted from orphanage trust graft case

Appellate Division of the Supreme Court on Wednesday acquitted all the accused, including BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, from the Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case.

“Following the Appellate Division judgement, there is no legal bar for Khaleda Zia to contest the next general election”, says lawyer Fahima Nasrin.

The apex court scrapped the High Court and trial court verdicts in the case.
