'India hatching plot to divide people of Bangladesh'
BNP Standing Committee Member Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain today said India is hatching plot to divide the people of Bangladesh by creating unrest, triggered by misleading statements and provocation.
“India is trying to misguide our people. They are trying to mislead the countrymen and inciting them to create unrest,” he said.
Dr Zahid was addressing a protest rally of youths organized by ‘Voice of Times’ in front of the Jatiya Press Club today.
The rally was organized in protest against the Indian aggression and attack of Hindu extremists on the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission office in Agartala, Tripura.
Dr. Zahid alleged that India and ousted Awami League are hatching conspiracy to destroy the economy of Bangladesh.
Indian extremists attacked Bangladesh mission and desecrated the national flag, which is a violation of the Vienna Convention, he said.
Criticizing the controversial role of Indian Prime Minister, the BNP leader also said the minorities in his own country (India) are being persecuted while the Indian premier remains silent.
Stating that the people won’t tolerate any conspiracy, Dr Zahid said, "Awami League is hatching conspiracy against Bangladesh fearing that they will have to face justice for murder, looting and intimidating the people.”
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka South City Nayebe Amir Advocate Dr. Helal Uddin was present as the special guest while president of Voice of Times Mohammad Farukul Islam was in the chair.
Among others, Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) President Shahidul Islam, Senior Joint Secretary General of Zia Parishad Abdullahil Masud, NDP Secretary General Md Manjur Hossain Isa, Advocate Parvez of Bangladesh Supreme Court, organization's Organizing Secretary Abu Jafar Mohammad Saleh, Vice-resident of the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalist (BFUJ) Mohsin Hossain, DUJ’s Vice-President Rashidul Haque and Jatiya Press Club’s executive member Momin Hossain also spoke on the occasion.
