Jamaat demands trial of those involved in Oct 28 Logi-Boitha violence

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Professor Golam Mia Porwar today demanded the trial of those involved in killing of Jamaat men in Logi-Boitha violence on October 28 in 2006.

The demand came when he was addressing a Rokon conference at local Shilpakala Academy in Narail district, a press release said.

Speaking as the chief guest, Porwar said Awami terrorists brutally killed many Jamaat men through Logi-Boitha violence on October 28 in 2006 and his party demanded exemplary punishment of those involved in the killing.

Claiming that the ousted Awami League government politicised the administration, he said the Awami brokers who remain still disguised in the administration must be identified and brought them to justice.

Jamaat-e-Islami central executive council member Mobarak Hossain, Jamaat Khulna City Ameer Mahfuzur Rahman, Magura district Ameer MB Baker and Narail district secretary Obaidullah Kawsar, among others, spoke at the conference with Narail district Ameer Advocate Ataur Rahman Bachhu in the chair.
