Dr Tawfiq-e-Elahi, former energy advisor to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, was arrested on Tuesday night from the Gulshan area of the capital.

DMP Ditective Branch Additional Commisioner Rezaul Karim Mallik confirmed the matter to media.

Elahi was detained around 9:45 PM in Gulshan, according to the official. He stated that there are multiple cases against Tawfiq-e-Elahi, but it will be disclosed later under which specific case he has been arrested. Elahi is currently at the DB office, and legal proceedings against him are ongoing, as informed by the Additional Commissioner of DB.
