Major Hafiz urges BNP men to win people's hearts with good behaviour
BNP Standing Committee Member Major (retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed today urged the party leaders and workers to win people’s hearts with good behaviour.
“All must live with discipline without indulging in any kind of wrongdoing . . . so that BNP’s reputation is not tarnished anyway,” he told BNP leaders and workers while holding a view-exchange meeting with them at his residence in Lalmohan Upazila of the district here.
Hafiz Uddin added: “We, all who are in the BNP, must control ourselves . . . don't take the law into your own hands.”
Expressing his firm determination of ensuring proper punishment to those who resorted to torture and harassment to the BNP men, Hafiz Uddin said legal action will be taken in this connection for their past misdeeds.
The senior BNP leader also warned that tough action would be taken against the party men if their involvement is found in any kind of extortion or wrongdoing. “Alongside facing legal action, they (party men) will be expelled from the party for anyone’s involvement in extortion or wrongdoing,” he added.
Noting that the deposed Sheikh Hasina-led Awami League government was involved in enforced disappearances, killings and harassment of many people by filing of different false cases against the opposition party leaders and workers, he said, “A huge amount of money have been siphoned off also. For this reason, the wrath of Allah has fallen on Awami League leading to its fall from the power subsequently”.
He called upon everyone of the party to perform their respective work from their own professions.
Former Upazila BNP President Shahrukh Hafiz Diko chaired the programme. District Unit of BNP Joint Convener Advocate Habibur Rahman, Upazila BNP Member Secretary Babul Panchayat, Upazila BNP Joint Convener Principal Faridul Islam, Amjad Hossain, Sohel Aziz Shahin, BNP President of local Municipality Unit Sadek Mia Jantu and General Secretary Zakir Imran, among others, spoke on the ocassion.
