Nurul Islam Moni made BNP Vice Chairman in National Executive Committee

Nurul Islam Moni, former lawmaker and ex-president of Barguna district unit of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, has been promoted to Vice Chairman in the party's National Executive Committee.
 
A media release signed by the party's Senior Joint Secretary General, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, confirmed this on Tuesday.
 
The party expressed its hope that Moni will be able to effectively organize and strengthen the party in his new role as vice chairman.
 
The party leader has served as a Member of Parliament for the Barguna-2 constituency three times, in 1988, 1991 and 2001.
 
He was also a candidate for the BNP in the 2018 national elections. Although he has been away from his area for an extended period, he recently visited Patharghata in Barguna following a shift in political power.
