No heroism but fleeing in Hasina's political life: Rizvi
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi today said there is no heroism in political life of Sheikh Hasina except fleeing.
"They say many things . . . One minister of her (Sheikh Hasina) cabinet said Bangabandhu's daughter never flees. But we don't see any heroism of Sheikh Hasina except fleeing," he told reporters after visiting the family of rickshaw puller Mohammad Kamal who was killed at Naya Paltan area in the city during the recent student-people upsurge.
Rizvi handed over financial assistance to the victim's family on behalf of BNP acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.
Rizvi said Hasina had been hiding abroad for five years after the barbaric killing in 1975. If she wished, she could come to the country after six months or one year, but she didn't, he added.
He said Sheikh Hasina was able to return home in the tenure of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman. She had hatched conspiracy just after returning home, he said, adding Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman was killed just after 13 days of her return.
The BNP senior secretary general said Sheikh Hasina left the country along with her all relatives.
He said many people including, rickshaw puller Mohammad Kamal, were killed just before the victory. They are sons of democracy, he added.
BNP health secretary Dr Rafiqul Islam and Swechasebak Dal vice president Dr Jahidul Kabir, among others, were present.
