Stay vigilant against AL's blueprint for revenge: Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Friday urged everyone to remain vigilant as the ousted Awami League, removed from power following a student-led movement, is now allegedly plotting revenge.

In a statement, Fakhrul revealed, "We have learned from reliable sources that the deposed regime and its allies are actively planning to retaliate against the interim government and the victorious students."

He further highlighted that social media is being manipulated to unjustly blame all democratic political forces, including the BNP, for various heinous crimes.

Fakhrul specifically mentioned that a known faction is leveraging social media platforms and news channels from a neighboring country for this purpose.

"Places of worship and properties belonging to Hindu, Buddhist, and Christian communities are being deliberately targeted," he stated. "Their current strategy is to incite communal discord and create divisions among the victorious forces and the general public."

He expressed hope that the interim government, the administration, and citizens remain alert to these threats.

"Our party, the BNP, is already taking every possible step to address the situation," Fakhrul added.

He also warned that strict organizational and legal actions would be taken against anyone misusing the BNP's name for such malicious activities.

"Sensing the gravity of the current situation, I want to alert all relevant local and foreign supporters, as well as the citizens, about this conspiracy being orchestrated by the deposed dictator and its allies," Fakhrul emphasized.

He also urged members of minority communities to raise social awareness and resist this conspiracy from their respective positions.

Fakhrul called upon the country's people, the interim government, the patriotic Armed Forces, as well as the administration, Police, BGB, and Ansar forces, to support minority communities in the effort to build a democratic Bangladesh.
