Bangladesh turns into a death valley: Tarique Rahman
BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has termed Bangladesh as a ‘death valley’ where the authoritarian forces killed more than one thousand people including students, children and commoners in month-long carnage in July.
“At least 40 thousand people have been injured in the massacre against the young protesters. Thousands of people are dying in hospitals or at home. There is not a single university or institution in Dhaka or outside the capital where no one has been injured,” Tarique said in a video message on Thursday who has been staying in London since 2008 on political asylum.
The oppressed leader of Bangladesh Nationalist Party further mentioned that the air of the country was wiped with tears of parents and relatives who have lost their children and near ones.
“The authoritarian Hasina ordered the loyal forces of Army-BGB-Police to shoot the protesters on sight by issuing a curfew. Awami League chief on other hand staged a drama to observe the so-called mourning day,” added Tarique.
Tarique slammed the ‘crocodile tears’ of Hasina after killing thousands of people, leaving nearly half a million people to injuries and destroying the peace of millions of families.
“In an attempt to maintain illegal power, the murderer Hasina has turned the Police-BGB along with the army against the students in the July massacre. The Bangladesh Army is now 'shooting' against the people of its own country and 'messing' with the enemy to save the genocidal ruler like Hasina,” he said.
BNP acting chairman further recalled the 2009 BDR Carnage when 57 army officers were brutally killed in auspices of Hasina, mother of brutality.
“Then (in 2009), the army failed miserably to protect their colleagues. However, now they are asserting their bravery by shooting children in the chest of students. If you want to be brave, go to the unguarded border,” added Tarique .
Tarique Rahman urged the patriot members of Bangladesh Army to return to barracks and not to engage in war with the people of their own country like Myanmar.
BNP acting chairman has called upon the people of the country to form national unity to oust the authoritarian regime of Hasina.
“As a political activist, as a Bangladeshi, I would like to make a generous appeal to all democratic political party, socio-cultural organisation, teachers, intellectuals, labourers and, individuals and groups irrespective of caste and religion to stand against the autocratic regime of Hasina,” he said.
Tariqure requested all to make final resistance on the streets against the murderous-terrorist army of Hasina.
“This movement to bring down the killer Hasina has now spread like a spark across the country. This movement of unity of the students will not stop until the fall of Hasina,” he said.
