Awami League unleashing Chhatra League cadres against protesters

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that those who (Awami League) unleashed 'cadres' of ruling party student front Chhatra League and police against common students are inhumane devoid of humanity.

In a statement on Monday, he also alleged that the government has carried out heinous attacks on the students in different parts of the country, including on the Dhaka University campus, out of fear of losing power.

"Those who instigate Chhatra League goons along with law enforcers to brutally attack students are anti-humanity and inhumane. Those who indulge in corruption and violence are also suspicious of a rational movement of ordinary students of college and university," the BNP leader said.

He said it is never possible to ensure the rights of the people by a government driven by an ideology of looting. "So, they've resorted to extreme brutality to silence the collective voice. I strongly condemn and protest against the cowardly and despicable incident of injuring scores of students by unleashing law enforcers and Chhatra League cadres on students."

The BNP Secretary General wished the injured students a speedy recovery and demanded punishment against the attackers. He said the government has gotten unnerved and desperate over the fierce movement by the students across the country, including the capital, for the just demand seeking reform in quotas in government jobs.

"That is why state power has now been used mercilessly to suppress the movement. This is the traditional feature of Awami fascism," Fakhrul observed.

He alleged that the current Awami government is continuously deceiving ordinary students over the quota issue. "Because it's Awami League's tradition to deceive people. The prime minister of the illegitimate government, after cancelling the quota in 2018, reinstated it in a different manner."

Fakhrul alleged that the government is trying to suppress the legitimate demand of the students in a bloody manner to stay in power. "People, state, society, independence, and sovereignty are never safe in their hands."

"The ruling Awami quarter wants to silence the country's people by adopting terrible means of repression. The Awami government has taken the approach of suppressing the ongoing movement of ordinary students, in the same way, it is running a steamroller over the movement of pro-democracy political parties. That is why the terrorists involved in such diabolical activities must be punished."
