Countrywide demo against brutal Chhatra League attack

Students who are protesting to reform rather than reinstate the quota system in government jobs, have announced rallies on campuses countrywide on Tuesday in response to Monday's attack by the activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League, student front of rulling party.

Nahid Islam, a key organiser and a spokesman for the quota movement, announced the programme at a press briefing in front of Curzon Hall of Dhaka University around 9:30pm.

They will stage demonstrations and bring out protest rallies from campuses across the country to press home their demand of reforming the quota system, he added.

He also urged the students to join the programme to make it successful. Around 300 students were injured when BCL activists swooped on the protesters at different Universities including Dhaka University this afternoon.
