Activists of Chhatra League, students wing of Awami League, launched an attack on quota protesters at Dhaka University. The students were protesting remarks made by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina regarding the Movement.

The protesters, who are demanding the withdrawal of Hasina's comments, began assembling at the Raju Sculpture at noon on Monday. They voiced their discontent through slogans, protest songs, and poetry.

Chhatra League had planned a rally in the same area at 3 PM but instead gathered at Modhur Canteen due to the presence of the quota protesters. At around 3:15, Chhatra League activists clashed with the protesters in front of Dhaka University's Bijoy Ekattor Hall, resulting in the injuries of more than 100 students.
