Pahalgam attack: TRF denies role, cites hacking
The Resistance Front, a shadow outfit linked to Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, denied involvement in the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians on April 22. TRF, which had initially claimed responsibility for the deadly assault earlier this week, released a statement refuting its earlier admission.
Cyber intrusion
In a message circulating on social media, TRF stated, “TRF unequivocally denies any involvement in the Pahalgam incident. Any attribution of this act to TRF is false and hasty.” The group further claimed that an unauthorised message was posted on one of its digital platforms due to a “coordinated cyber intrusion.”

According to the statement, an internal audit revealed signs of external manipulation. “Early indicators suggest fingerprints of Indian cyber-intelligence operatives,” TRF alleged, suggesting that the initial claim of responsibility was planted through a breach in their communications network.
The terror outfit stated it is conducting a full internal investigation to identify the source of the breach. Indian security agencies continue their probe into the attack, which targeted civilians in the tourist-frequented Baisaran meadows of Anantnag district.
