Prof CR Abrar to take oath as adviser

Prof Chowdhury R Abrar is set to be sworn in as a new Adviser, Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said on Tuesday.

He is expected to take charge as the Education Adviser, Alam said, adding that the oath-taking ceremony is likely to be held at 11 am on Wednesday.

Dr Wahiduddin Mahmud currently holds the position of Education Adviser.

The Press Secretary made the announcement while briefing the media at the Foreign Service Academy.

Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Deputy Press Secretaries Apurba Jahangir and Abul Kalam Azad Majumder, and Assistant Press Secretary Suchismita Tithi were also present.

Prof Abrar completed his studies at the University of Dhaka, the University of Sussex, and Griffith University in Australia.

His works have been featured in volumes published by Westview Press, Blackwell, Earthscan, and Macmillan India. He is currently a faculty member in the Department of International Relations at the University of Dhaka.
