Sakhawat Hossain removed from home affairs adviser
The announcement of the portfolios for the newly sworn-in advisers and the redistribution of responsibilities among the existing advisers to the interim government was made public on Friday.
Wahiduddin Mahmud has been assigned to oversee the Ministry of Planning and the Ministry of Education. Ali Imam Majumder has been attached to the Chief Adviser’s Office, according to a handout from the Chief Adviser’s Office.
Muhammad Fawzul Kabir Khan will handle the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, and the Ministry of Railways. Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has been given the charges of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Agriculture.
The redistribution of portfolios for existing advisers is as follows:
- Salehuddin Ahmed: Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Commerce.
- Dr. Asif Nazrul: Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, and Ministry of Cultural Affairs.
- Adilur Rahman Khan: Ministry of Industries and Ministry of Housing and Public Works.
- Syeda Rizwana Hasan: Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, and Ministry of Water Resources.
- Md Nahid Islam: Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
- Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan: Ministry of Youth and Sports, and Ministry of Labour and Employment.
- Brigadier General (Retd.) Dr. M Sakhawat Hossain: Ministry of Textiles and Jute.
- Farooq-e-Azam: Ministry of Liberation War Affairs and Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.
The portfolios of other advisers will remain unchanged.
