Interim govt expanded with four new advisers

Four new advisers were sworn in on Friday afternoon, expanding the recently formed 17-member interim government led by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus.

The new advisers are economist Wahiduddin Mahmud, former Cabinet Secretary Ali Imam Majumder, former Power Secretary Muhammad Fauzul Kabir Khan, and Lieutenant General (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.

President Mohammed Shahabuddin administered the oath at Bangabhaban, with Cabinet Secretary Md. Mahbub Hossain overseeing the ceremony.

Nobel laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus assumed the role of Chief Adviser of Bangladesh’s interim government on August 8, following protests that led to the ouster of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
