Hasina among 30 sued in abduction case
A case has been filed against 30 people including Awami League president and former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan and some members of law enforcement agencies on charge of abducting a lawyer from Uttara around nine years back.
Supreme Court lawyer Sohel Rana, a victim of enforced disappearance, lodged the case with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Farzana Shakila Sumu Chowdhury.
Taking the allegations into cognizance, the court ordered Wattara West police station to record it.
The other named accused included former law minister Anisul Huq, who was arrested from Dhaka's Sadrghat on Tuesday afternoon, former IGP Shahidul Haque and former Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Director General Benazir Ahmed. The unnamed accused are the RAB personnel.
Earlier on Tuesday, one SM Ameer Hamza filed a murder case against seven people including Sheikh Hasina with Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate court.
