The government has closed the public primary schools for an indefinite period as the student protests continue.

“Considering the safety of the students, the primary school will remain closed until further notice,” said the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education in a statement on Wednesday.

In addition, all secondary and higher secondary level educational institutions (schools, colleges, madrasas and technical institutions), universities and polytechnic institutes will remain closed until further instructions.
