Over 50 killed in police firing and BCL attacks
On Thursday, more than 50 people, including 41 students, were killed in police firing and brutal attacks by Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) across Bangladesh. The clashes left hundreds of students injured.
The Mirror Asia has obtained a list of 41 deceased students from various educational institutions, including three females. The dead included:
American International University Bangladesh: Five students
American International University: Three students
BRAC University: One student
BUFT: One student
Shanto-Mariam University: One student
IUT: One student
MIST: One student
Northern University: Three students
East-West University: One student
Imperial College: One student
Madaripur Government College: One student
Madaripur area schools: Three students
Manikganj Government Devendra College: One student
Manikganj Government Women's College: One student
Tongi Government College: One student
Various educational institutions in Cumilla: Seven students
Tangail: Two students
Uttara High School: Two students
Narayanganj Women's College: One student
Bogura Azizul Haque College: Two students
Dhaka Residential Model College: One student
Sources from different police stations across the country have confirmed these fatalities, though the death toll is expected to rise.
The violence escalated from Wednesday when six students were killed in clashes with the police and BCL.
