Quota protest at DU: 13 injured as police fire rubber bullets and tear gas

At least 13 people were injured this afternoon when police fired rubber bullets, tear gas, and sound grenades at quota protesters on the Dhaka University campus.

The incidents happened between the morning and 3 pm in and around Dhaka University, said Inspector Md Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH Police Outpost.

The injured were identified as Md. Kawsar (20), Md. Oliullah (27), Md. Nayeem (24), Md. Saidul Islam (26), Md. Iqbal Hossain (40), Md. Sohan (28), Limon (15), Mizan (20), Ferdous (40), Awami Mahila League activist Kabita (45) from Mirpur, Nasrin (48), Rahima (50), and Cumilla Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Law College student Md Nadim Uddin Khokon (27).

Among the injured, Md. Kawsar and Md. Oliullah were admitted while the others were released after receiving treatment, said the police official.
