Mild heat wave sweeping over parts of country

Mild heat wave is sweeping over sixteen districts across the country and it may abate from some places.

"Mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Dhaka, Tangail, Faridpur, Madaripur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj, Rangpur, Moulvibazar, Chandpur, Noakhali, Bagerhat, Jashore, Barishal, Patuakhali and Bhola and it may abate from some places", according to met office forecast for the next 24 hours begins today.

Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, at a few places over Dhaka, Rajshahi Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions.

Trough of low lies over West Bengal to Northwest Bay across Southwestern part of Bangladesh. Southwest monsoon has advanced up to Dhaka, Barishal, Chattogram, Sylhet, Mymensingh, Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions. Conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest monsoon.

Country's maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded 37.4 degree Celsius at Jashore and minimum temperature today was recorded 21.8 degree Celsius at Rajarhat. Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am today was recorded 55 millimeters (mm) at Rajarhat.

Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
