CIRT director Hossain’s anomalies in forensic lab project
Bangladesh government’s computer incident response team (CIRT) project director Hossain Bin Amin has allegedly supported a private company in procurment of commissioning forensic software tools for Digital Forensic Lab.
The tender process turned into a single company procurement due to illegal favour of CIRT project director Hossain to a privarte entity, Dynamic Solutions, officials familiar with the development confirmed the matter.
Amin maintains regular communication with forensic solution provider, Oxygen country manager Sumedh S Bombaktar. After contacting with him the local contractors received email that this price and authorisation only locked with Dynamic Solution as instructed by project director Amin.
The Mirror Asia has seen copies of screen grab of email communication for above reference.
Bangladesh Computer Council flouted the tender from ‘strengthening of BGD e-GOV CIRT’ project on April 7 which will be closed on 28th of this month.
Officials involved in the project informed that Hossain Bin Amin is better known as close aide of Mohammad Saiful Alam Khan, former CIRT director who accused in corruption during ousted Awami League regime.
Amin became closed to Saiful during his tenure as deputy project director for establishment of software quality, testing and certification centre. Regarding the allegations, TMA tried to reach Hossain Bin Amin for comment for several times. However, his phone found switched off.
