Rizvi for fair election soon to bring back democracy
Senior Joint Secretary General of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Ruhul Kabir Rizvi today said a fair election is needed soon to bring back democracy in the country.
"Conspiracy is being hatched against the country . . . So, everyone should remain alert," he told a discussion held on Borobari Shaheed Abul Kashem High School Ground here.
Earlier, he witnessed a football match of Shaheed Zia Smriti Football Tournament on the school ground.
Rizvi said BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia was and will remain in the country, tolerating all oppression.
"But Sheikh Hasina fled the country, leaving her leaders and workers . . . . This is the difference between Khaleda Zia and Sheikh Hasina," he added.
Noting that the Awami League (AL) has destroyed the country's democracy in the last 16 years, he said they (AL) have looted thousands of crores of money.
Sheikh Hasina has killed hundreds of people to intact her power and ruled the country as her own wish, the BNP senior leader said, adding, "She is still now active and directing her terrorist groups to carry out terrorism activities in the country."
"Everyone should remain alert so that the fascist group cannot grab state power again," said Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
BNP Organising Secretary (Rangpur division) and former deputy minister Principal Asadul Habib Dulu, Health Affairs Secretary Dr Rafiqul Islam, Rangpur city unit convener Samsuzzaman Samu and BNP Lalmonirhat district unit joint secretary AKM Mominul Haque, among others, addressed the discussion.
