Travel ban imposed on ex-MPs Hazari, Habibur

A court here on Thursday imposed travel ban on former Feni-2 lawmaker Nizam Uddin Hazari, his wife Nurjahan Begum, former Bogura-5 lawmaker Habibur Rahman and his son Asif Iqbal over graft allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Ash Shams Zaglul Hossain passed the orders, allowing separate pleas of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Deputy Director of ACC Md Nurul Huda pleaded for banning foreign travel of Hazari and his wife, while deputy director Asaduzzaman filed a petition for imposing travel ban on Habibur and his son.

ACC public prosecutor Mahmud Hossain Jahangir moved the two pleas before the court.

Meanwhile, the same court imposed travel ban on former director general (DG) of Postal Department Sudhanshu Shekhar Bhadra.
