Mild heat wave likely to abate in parts of country
Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) predicted that the ongoing mild heat wave sweeping over three northern divisions and nine districts of the country including the capital is likely to abate from some places in the next 24 hours from 9 am today.
"Mild heat wave is sweeping over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions and the districts of Dhaka, Tangail, Faridpur, Kishoregonj, Narayanganj, Sylhet, Feni, Jashore and Chuadanga and it may abate from some places," it said.
"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy fall at some places over the country," it added.
However, the day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country
Country's maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded 38.5 degrees Celsius in Rangpur of Rangpur division while today's minimum temperature was 25.0 degrees Celsius in Bandarban of Chattogram Division.
Rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6 am today was recorded 55 mm in Cox's Bazar of Chattogram Division.
The sun sets at 5:54pm today and rises at 5:49 am tomorrow in the capital.
