Police won’t tolerate violation of law: DMP
Mentioning that everyone should obey by the court order, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman today said police will not tolerate any violation of law.
“Everyone has obligation to follow the court order, so police will not accept any violation of the law,” he said this while virtually addressing a gathering of journalists at a function organized by Bangladesh Crime Reporters Association (CRAB) at its Nasrul Hamid auditorium in the city, as the special guest.
CRAB organized the sports competition and fruits festival with its president Kamruzzaman Khan in the chair.
Habibur Rahman said the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court has given a one-month stay on the judgment given by the High Court on quota system in the government jobs, adding, “Quota system in the government jobs is a matter of court. Everyone should have faith in the court. There is an obligation to comply with the court orders.
I think everyone should do that.
He said that journalists always support police to ensure justice by writing investigative reports and find out the truth. CRAB conducts various activities including sports competitions, fruits festival and other social works for wellbeing of the journalists, he added.
CRAB President Kamruzzaman Khan thanked all the journalists and guests for attending the event despite the heavy rain.

Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) President Syed Shukur Ali Shuvo, treasurer of BFUJ- Bangladesh Federal Union Journalists and former CRAB President Khairuzzaman Kamal, former CRAB Presidents senior Journalist Parvez Khan, Abul Khair, Mirza Mehdi Tamal and Isharaf Hossain Isa were present.
